THE BALLET ACADEMY, INC. GENERAL POLICIES
1. The Ballet Academy, Inc. no longer accepts students who are enrolled at other dance studios, schools, academies or other dance instruction groups/clubs. Any student seeking an exception to this policy may petition The Ballet Academy, Inc. for special consideration by submitting to the President of The Ballet Academy, Inc., in writing, the circumstances justifying such exception. Exceptions to this policy may be granted or denied on a case by case basis. This policy does not apply to public or private K-12 school dance programs such as poms, cheerleading, or show choirs.
2. No solicitations of any type shall be allowed. This prohibition upon solicitation specifically includes but is not limited to The Ballet Academy, Inc. studio, parking lot, recital hall and any other venue and associated private parking area(s) leased or otherwise utilized by The Ballet Academy, Inc. This policy applies to students, their families and friends of students at The Ballet Academy, Inc. The types of solicitations prohibited pursuant to this policy specifically include but are not limited to the following:
(a) Encouraging students of The Ballet Academy, Inc. to enroll at another dance studio, school, academy or other dance instruction groups/clubs;
(b) Encouraging The Ballet Academy, Inc.’s instructors and/or staff to teach or otherwise be engaged by another dance studio, school, academy or other dance instruction group/clubs; and
(c) The selling or marketing of any type of goods or services, whether or not such goods or services are sold or marketed for profit or for a non-profit organization.
Any student or parent of a student seeking an exception to this policy may petition The Ballet Academy, Inc. for special consideration by submitting to the President of The Ballet Academy, Inc., in writing, the circumstances justifying such exception. Exceptions to this policy may be granted or denied on a case by case basis.
3. The Ballet Academy, Inc. student enrollment information is confidential and shall not be utilized or disclosed by any student or parent of a student to any other individual or organization for any purpose, whatsoever, without the advance written consent from the President of The Ballet Academy, Inc.
4. The performances and choreography of The Ballet Academy, Inc. are copyrighted. Publication or public use of videography or photos is not permitted without the written permission of the President of The Ballet Academy, Inc. The Ballet Academy encourages parents and friends to take pictures and video during observation times at the Academy. Since we engage professional videography services for our performances, other performance videography is not permitted. Flash photography is also not permitted as it is a potential safety hazard for the dancers. Non-flash photography is permitted.
5. It is the policy of The Ballet Academy, Inc. to provide its students and the parents of its students with a pleasant and positive environment that encourages students to learn and enjoy the art of dance. To create this environment, all students, parents/family/friends of students and staff will be required to conduct themselves so as to demonstrate to students, the parents/family/friends of students and staff at The Ballet Academy, Inc. the utmost professionalism, courtesy and respect.
The Ballet Academy, Inc. will not tolerate any violation of this policy. Students, parents of students and staff of The Ballet Academy, Inc. are strongly encouraged to contact the President of The Ballet Academy, Inc. with information concerning any violation of this policy.
6. The Ballet Academy, Inc. reserves the right to establish additional rules and/or policies from time to time with regard to the operation of its business and dance academy/studio. Such rules and polices will become effective and enforceable immediately upon their establishment.
7. If any student or member of a student’s family violates any of the rules or policies of The Ballet Academy, Inc., as listed in the Policy Handbook or otherwise, then The Ballet Academy, Inc. may, in its discretion, do all or any of the following, depending upon the seriousness of the violation:
(a) A person who is soliciting, disruptive or otherwise is not treating students, student’s families or staff with professionalism, courtesy and respect may be asked to leave the premises, on a temporary or permanent basis;
(b) Provide a verbal and/or written warning to the individual who has violated a rule or policy;
(c) Temporarily suspend the student or the related student (if the violation is by the student’s family member). In the case of any such suspension, there shall be no refund of any fees or pre-paid tuition during the period of such suspension. Such suspension will not relieve the student or any other person from any outstanding obligation to pay any balances due to The Ballet Academy, Inc. at the time of such suspension.
(d) The student or the related student (if the violation is by the student’s family member) may be dismissed/terminated as a student of The Ballet Academy, Inc. In the case of any such dismissal/termination, then such dismissal/termination shall result in the forfeiture by such student of any fees or pre-paid tuition paid to The Ballet Academy, Inc. Such dismissal/termination will not relieve the student or any other person from any outstanding obligation to pay any balances due to The Ballet Academy, Inc. at the time of such dismissal/termination.
These actions are not part of a progressive procedure. This means the lesser of the above rights and remedies of The Ballet Academy, Inc. upon the violation of its rules and/or policies (such as a reprimand or warning) do not have to be used prior to taking more stringent action (such as the suspension and/or dismissal/termination of a student).
We regret that past behaviors of a few individuals have made these policies necessary.
